Puting Balas (a.k.a Little Boracay)

The Laagans just had a great weekend adventure, feeling like survivors, in Puting Balas… (“,)

Google Coordinates of Puting Balas

“Puting Balas” is a visayan term which means white sand. Located at Kisulad in Sta. Maria, Davao del Sur, the place was named after this because it’s the only white sand shoreline, stretching about 2 kilometers long. The neighboring shorelines have gradients of brown to black sand, which seems, Puting Balas had just been artificially dumped with white sand… But, amazingly, it’s all natural.

Another access to the beach is to walk through the cliff-side

Kisulad is 2-3 hours away from General Santos City. The route is very accessible. Going to Puting Balas, you can either take a 15 min boat ride from Sitio Baswayan or have a 25 min habal-habal rough ride taking the back part of the resort. Don’t worry about electricity because the resort already have it. They even have air conditioned rooms for rent.

Puting Balas is also called little Boracay because of it’s Bora-like white powdery sand, except, no party places or establishments. If you’re looking for serenity or peace of mind, Puting Balas is just a perfect getaway. Owning the place for a day or more is the right thing to de-stress.
